Overview
In this role you will support the growth of the Infrastructure Design capability within a leading independent civil engineering consultancy. You’ll produce drainage and SUDS designs for planning and detailed developments, contributing to flood risk assessments, drawings, reports and calculations. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects across residential, retail, industrial and commercial sectors. The role offers hybrid working and a pathway toward Chartered status, with a real impact on infrastructure design standards.

Responsibilities
- Produce planning and detailed drainage designs (drainage, SUDS, building drainage) for major developments
- Develop flood risk assessments and drainage strategies to support planning applications
- Prepare and issue drawings, specifications, reports and calculations
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure team and multi-disciplinary partners to deliver projects
- Support process adherence to design codes, standards and regulatory requirements (S104, etc.)
Key requirements
- HNC or BEng Civil Engineering; 3+ years post-degree postgraduate experience
- Experience in private sector development from a consultancy background
- Proven project management and strong organizational/communication skills
- Proactive, strategic, and analytical approach; able to work collaboratively or independently
- People-focused with ability to bring new ideas into practice
- Towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE, CIHT, or CIWEM preferred
- Knowledge of SuDS Manual, Sewers for Adoption, and related standards
- Experience with Microdrainage and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of legal, planning, technical consent, adoption and contract procedures for sewers, SUDS, S104
