Overview

In this role you lead a cross-functional engineering team within the Air Traffic Management Systems group to deliver global sensors and related services. You drive engineering plans, governance, and performance across projects, ensuring technical integrity and profitable delivery. You will act as the main technical liaison with customers and stakeholders, manage risk, and align engineering work with programme baselines. This position offers impact in shaping advanced systems for a worldwide customer base while collaborating in a high-performance IPT. The role combines leadership, technical excellence, and strategic delivery within a dynamic defence environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering leadership for a multi-disciplinary team delivering global sensors and weapons products and services
  • Develop and coordinate Engineering development plans aligned with Raytheon standards and programme needs
  • Manage work packages with planning, tracking, and KPI reporting in collaboration with the Programme Manager
  • Serve as external technical point of contact and regularly report status to customers and partners
  • Coordinate with Design Authority to maintain technical integrity of programmes
  • Lead risk and change management for engineering deliverables with mitigation planning
  • Ensure adherence to programme baseline schedule and costs using earned value techniques
  • Direct and indirect team management including resource planning, performance goals, and timesheets

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering complex multi-disciplinary development programmes and tailoring approaches to programme needs
  • Extensive systems engineering background with leadership of high-performance, cross-functional teams
  • Strong financial management understanding and impact on programmes
  • Strategic thinking and relationship management abilities
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team and advise programme teams
  • Broad technical background in systems design and integration
  • Knowledge of software development and delivery methodologies
  • BSc / BEng in Engineering, Science, or Aeronautical Engineering
