Associate Director, Growth & Development

Overview

In this role you lead client-facing growth for Arup’s South Coast CPD portfolio, shaping masterplanning, planning and design solutions. You will build relationships with public and private sector clients, identify opportunities, and steer multi-disciplinary teams to deliver profitable projects. You’ll contribute to marketing, thought leadership and strategic direction to raise Arup’s profile in the region. The role offers scope to shape regional resilience and sustainable growth through impactful, investable work.

Responsibilities

• Grow market share across CPD by pursuing and winning strategic prospects and projects
• Engage with existing and new clients to maintain a strong project pipeline
• Lead project delivery, provide strategic direction, ensure QA, and maintain profitability
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities and integrated delivery
• Support thought leadership and wider marketing to raise Arup’s regional profile

Key requirements

• Deep understanding of the South Coast development market
• Strong network with cities, housing and/or transport clients and stakeholders in the region
• Proven consultancy track record in winning work and promoting multidisciplinary CPD offers
• Experience developing business strategies or client development plans and implementing them
• Experience mapping client requirements to solutions to maximise opportunities
• Experience leading bids and delivery with multi-disciplinary teams and sourcing sub-consultants
• Experience in a commercial setting: client liaison, programme/time management, QA and financial control
• Interest in cities and policy areas (housing, funding, transport, regeneration, quality of life)
