Overview
In this role you will lead the management and maintenance of Bristol’s parks and green spaces, guiding multiple teams to deliver safe, high-quality public spaces. You will work with communities and partners to improve assets and encourage local ownership. You’ll balance resources to meet performance targets while upholding health and safety in a public sector setting. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multiple teams and resources to deliver parks and food growing spaces
- Oversee grounds maintenance and tree management services across all green spaces
- Adapt resources to meet changing specifications and performance targets
- Collaborate with communities, citizens and partners to maintain and improve spaces
- Encourage volunteering and local ownership of green assets
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements in a public sector context
Key requirements
- Significant experience in leading operational teams and resources
- Professional qualifications in environmental management or horticulture (desirable)
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Experience working in or with the public sector
