As a senior Credit Risk leader in Shawbrook’s 2nd Line of Defence, you will chair the Credit Approvals Committee and oversee commercial risk sanctioning across asset classes. You’ll lead a high-performing team, shape risk policies, and ensure accurate risk assessment aligned with strategic objectives. Your work supports resilient credit decisions for Commercial Investment Real Estate, Specialty Finance and Asset Based Lending. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a high-performing Credit Risk team, coordinating resource across the function
- Present analyses and findings to stakeholders when needed
- Identify strategies to improve processes and drive automation within Credit Risk
- Challenge and support growth plans and sector risk appetite/policy decisions
- Sanction credit risk decisions for complex, large transactions across asset classes (CIR, Specialty Finance, ABL)
- Support and chair risk committees and follow up on action points
- Monitor asset class portfolios, watchlists and impairments; report on risk appetite and concentration
- Ensure compliance with ACPs and Credit Risk policies; guide 1st/2nd line analyses and DA decisions
- Contribute to development of credit risk processes and systems
- Provide guidance to 1st Line on evolving processes and policy alignment
Key requirements
- In-depth understanding of the financial services sector with focus on Credit Risk
- Strategic thinking and solution development

- Understanding of Credit Risk appetite and risk management frameworks
