About you
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification (or actively working towards)
- Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or in the process of obtaining
- Practical experience in health and safety within property management, housing, construction, or asset management environments
- Solid understanding of building safety standards, property compliance regulations, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and developing safe systems of work
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate operational teams, contractors, and residents effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a safety-centric culture
- Valid full driving licence and access to reliable transport to carry out site visits and inspections across multiple locations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including out-of-hours work when required, and respond to emergencies promptly
- Proven track record of working within Quality Control / Quality Assurance systems in high-pressure environments
What you’ll do
- Provide expert health and safety advice and ongoing support to all operational teams, including those involved in repairs, planned works, compliance, and reactive maintenance activities
- Support and assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety management systems aligned with organisational policies and statutory requirements
- Lead the planning and execution of risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits to proactively identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Monitor contractor activities, review RAMS documentation, and conduct site visits to verify adherence to safety standards and legal requirements
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to promote a strong safety culture across all teams
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses thoroughly, providing detailed reports and recommendations for prevention and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory bodies, ensuring all activities meet safety regulations and organisational standards
- Contribute to ongoing safety initiatives, helping to embed safety as a core organisational value and developing innovative approaches to risk management
