About Lifelong Mobility

Lifelong Mobility is the online coaching arm of one of the UK’s largest healthy-ageing brands: 1.8 million-plus people follow our founder’s physiotherapy content, and thousands of members over 50 trust us to help them stay strong and independent for life. We’re small, profitable, and growing – which means the person we hire into this role has a genuine seat at the table and a clear path upward.

Our online program helps older adults regain their strength and mobility so they can keep doing the things they enjoy. If you’re exceptional at what you do and align with our core values, we want to know you.

Role

You’ll own our production pipeline. Our founder films; you turn that footage into finished YouTube videos and member trainings, edited end to end, to our house style, on schedule.

Your job is simple to describe and hard to do brilliantly: keep high-quality videos shipping every week, with a healthy queue ready to go, so nothing depends on a last-minute scramble.

You’ll also be part of how the channel grows. You’ll work alongside the founder and our YouTube strategy team, bringing an editor’s eye to hooks, pacing and retention, and spotting what’s working on the platform right now.

That means you directly move the numbers that matter most to us: videos delivered on time, viewer retention, and a backlog of ready-to-publish content that keeps our publishing schedule rock solid.

This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role, with a clear path to Senior Editor based on performance, not tenure.

Responsibilities

  • Edit YouTube long-form videos end to end, unsupervised, using our style guide and templates.
  • Study our channel’s analytics and retention graphs, and bring ideas on what to change in the edit.
  • Edit member training videos for our members’ area, end to end.
  • Own the shoot-to-publish system: footage ingest and logging, project organisation, scheduling and backlog management.
  • Keep a minimum of two weeks of ready-to-publish content in the queue at all times.
  • Short-form editing for YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Facebook (around a quarter of your week), briefed by our marketing assistant.
  • Work within our AI-assisted editing workflows (transcript-driven cutting, automated clipping) and help us improve them.
  • Apply our style guides, templates and feedback consistently across every edit.
  • Communicate early and clearly about progress, blockers and realistic timelines.

Requirements

  • You’re a genuine YouTube nerd. You watch it constantly, study how top creators edit, and have opinions on hooks, pacing, retention and packaging. This is non-negotiable.
  • 1–3+ years of editing experience, including long-form YouTube or educational content you’ve edited end to end.
  • Confident in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (tell us which), with solid audio clean-up skills.
  • Strong sense of pacing for talking-head, demonstration and educational content.
  • A portfolio with at least two long-form edits you owned from raw footage to final export, plus some short-form work.
  • You can name the channels whose editing you study, and explain what makes them work.
  • Highly organised and reliable: you hit deadlines, keep projects tidy, and flag problems before they become late deliveries.
  • Comfortable with, and genuinely interested in, AI-assisted editing workflows.
  • Coachable and growth-minded: you apply feedback once and it sticks.
  • Comfortable working on a brand for adults aged 50+, with a respectful, non‑patronising tone.

Results

You own outcomes like:

  • A minimum of two weeks of ready-to-publish content, sustained.
  • At least 95% of edits delivered on time.
  • An average of no more than one revision round per video.
  • Our shoot-to-publish checklist kept current and followed on every video.
  • Our founder can film and walk away, confident the rest will be handled.

If this role did not exist, our publishing schedule would slip, our backlog would run dry, and we’d ship less content than our audience needs.

Your Path Here

We’re upfront about progression because we mean it. Your edits are measured, so your growth is too.

From Day One – Editor

Learn our style, our audience, and what keeps them watching. Build consistency across every edit and start working towards the Senior Editor standards.

Typically 2-24 months – Senior Editor

Earned by sustaining the Senior Editor standards, including audience retention on your own edits, for two to three consecutive quarters. Base pay and bonus scale with responsibility.

As the Team Grows – Lead Editor

Set the standard for the editing team, guide other editors, and help shape how our videos look and hold attention at scale.

Timelines depend on you, not the calendar. We promote on sustained results, not tenure.

Other Benefits

  • Real mentorship from the founder and our Senior Editor. You’ll work closely with the people driving the content, not three layers removed.
  • A genuine career ladder with pay and responsibility that scale as you do.
  • A dedicated learning budget for courses, books and training that make you better at your craft.
  • Flexible hybrid working: focused days in our Farnham office, the rest from home, with a team that respects your time.
  • Free access to the Lifelong Mobility programme for you and a family member, so you see the impact of the work first-hand.
  • Work that matters. Most editing jobs don’t visibly change lives. This one does, every single week.

Our Culture & Values

Our core values are the heart of this company. They’re how we actually operate day to day, and they’re why people who join us tend to stay and grow. If they sound like you, you’ll fit fast. If they sound exhausting, we’re probably not your place (and that’s okay).

Personal Ownership

If you say “I’ve got it,” you take it all the way to upload-ready. You don’t disappear on deadlines.

You study what performs on YouTube, in our channel and beyond, listen to feedback, and keep tightening your craft over time.

Play to Win

We care about outcomes, not how busy the timeline looks. The score is videos shipped and watched, and you show up to move those numbers.

Compensation

Plus a performance bonus tied to on-time delivery and backlog health, with clear, transparent mechanics so you always know how to earn more.

(Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and fit.)
