Overview
You will lead environmental delivery during construction of Microsoft’s data center portfolio, coordinating across legal, design, construction and operations to manage risk and ensure compliance. Based in EMEA, you’ll drive timely execution through monitoring, permits and supplier oversight. You’ll build capabilities, train teams, and support handover to operations within a sustainability-focused program. This role offers meaningful impact on scalable infrastructure for the cloud and a culture of inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental delivery across the construction phase to meet project timelines
- Clarify environmental scopes for contractor tenders and support procurement from bid to award
- Assess contractor capability, recruit and onboard site environmental managers
- Ensure environmental deliverables, permits, and roles are defined from Kick-off to completion
- Monitor environmental performance, data quality, risks, and compliance, driving corrective actions
- Provide risk, sustainability, and impact-reduction expertise and train teams
- Coordinate handover to operations and drive continuous improvement of the Environmental Excellence program
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management or Environmental Science, or extensive relevant experience
- Significant direct experience managing environmental risk on fast-paced infrastructure projects
