Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Maintenance Officer within the Furnished Homes and Temporary Accommodation service. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and help us improve outcomes for residents across Rotherham.

Furnished Homes is a dynamic and fast-paced service, providing domestic furniture, white goods and flooring to Rotherham Council tenants.

We are looking for a highly motivated, practical and hands-on individual who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and takes pride in providing a high-quality service to our tenants.

This is a varied and active role. You will support the delivery, installation and collection of essential furniture and white goods to and from Council properties across the borough. Other responsibilities include carrying out minor repairs, undertaking general warehouse duties, and providing general maintenance across more than 170 temporary accommodation properties.

The role is physically demanding and involves regular heavy lifting, including transporting bulky and heavy items in a range of weather conditions. You will therefore need to be physically fit and capable of safely undertaking the duties of the role, as well as resilient and comfortable working in a busy environment.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, honest and hardworking, with a positive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, organise and prioritise your workload, and provide a helpful and professional service when working in tenants’ homes.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.
