Senior Residential Activity Worker with Outdoor Activities
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £14.95 – £15.55* per hour (£30,318 – £31,535 per year)
Hours: 39 hours per week (4 consecutive days followed by 7 days off, then 3 consecutive days followed by 7 days off)
Important Requirements:
- A full, valid UK driver’s licence
- Minimum age 21 years
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or higher in Child Care
We are looking for a Senior Residential Activity Worker to join our team and lead a 12‑week Activity and Intervention Programme in an Ofsted‑registered children’s home, providing crisis intervention placements for young people aged 8‑18.
Role Overview: Deliver therapeutic care and lead outdoor adventure activities such as kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. Supervise and mentor junior staff; reside onsite during working days.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate adventurous outdoor activities that build confidence and resilience.
- Provide direct support, build positive relationships, and support daily routines and emotional development.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring safe high‑quality care.
- Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards.
- Serve as a role model and inspire young people through everyday interactions.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or higher in Child Care (must state on CV).
- Experience working with young people in residential, care, or activity‑based settings.
- Strong leadership, emotional resilience, genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Full UK driver’s licence, access to vehicle, age 21+.
- Right to work in the UK.
