Overview
As Children’s Registered Manager, you lead a residential home network to safeguard and support looked-after children. You join an experienced team with trauma-informed, strength-based practice and strong multi-agency collaboration. You shape service delivery, drive continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance and safeguarding excellence. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for designated residential homes
- Ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and high-quality care in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Lead and develop staff teams, delivering reflective supervision, appraisals, and professional development
- Oversee risk management, placement stability, and complex safeguarding planning
- Prepare and monitor budgets, reporting, and quality assurance for regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with multi-agency Safeguarding Partnerships and care teams
- Utilize technology for effective record-keeping, monitoring, and practice improvement
- Support staff availability on site to ensure continuous leadership presence and safe care
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in residential care for children and young people
- Leadership or management experience with a track record of service improvement
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation (Children Act, Care Act, Liberty Safeguards)
- Experience with outcome-focused, trauma-informed care and building placement stability
- Ability to work within multi-agency partnerships and manage complex needs
- Financial management skills and ability to oversee home budgets
- Proficient in using technology for practice support and regulatory reporting
- Enhanced Disclosure clearance required
