Overview

In this role you will support a fast-moving procurement function in the charity sector, driving commercial activities across diverse spend areas. You will work with stakeholders, contract managers, and suppliers to deliver value, ensure compliance, and enhance supplier relationships. The position combines sourcing, contract management, data analysis, and governance to support effective procurement outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Supporting sourcing exercises, procurement projects, and contract management activities
  • Assisting with supplier engagement and supplier performance initiatives
  • Providing commercial support across procurement, purchasing, compliance, and contract lifecycle management
  • Maintaining contract registers, procurement systems, and commercial records
  • Reviewing purchasing requirements and supporting the effective use of existing agreements and frameworks
  • Producing data analysis, management information, and commercial reports to support decision-making
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, process optimisation, and digital procurement activities
  • Supporting governance, risk management, and compliance with procurement regulations
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Key requirements

  • Experience within public sector procurement is essential.
  • A degree, MCIPS qualification, relevant commercial qualification, or equivalent practical experience with PA23 training fulfilled.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build productive working relationships
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering work to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of procurement legislation, commercial governance, and risk management principles
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present clear recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness, including negotiation, supplier engagement, and value-for-money considerations
