Overview

In this role you lead structural design for reinforced concrete and steel in the Nuclear Island of EPR plants, delivering safe, compliant, long-life structures. You will coordinate with an international team and BIM/drafting peers to integrate design with construction. The position focuses on safety-critical, heavy structural work in a demanding environment, shaping critical infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Lead an international engineering team on Nuclear Island structures for EPR nuclear power plants
• Design and analyze reinforced concrete and steel structures
• Ensure compliance with Eurocode, ETC-C, and nuclear safety standards
• Assess seismic, dynamic, and construction-related loads
• Collaborate with BIM teams, drafters, and engineers for design coordination
• Evaluate and implement design changes maintaining compliance and performance
• Deliver technical documentation, drawings, and structural specifications
• Provide on-site support during construction and resolve structural issues
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee detailing work
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and construction teams to ensure CDM and safety compliance
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, tools, and best practices

Key requirements

• Proven RC and steel structure design experience for large-scale infrastructure
• Solid understanding of Eurocodes
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro
• Strong seismic design and complex load assessment abilities
• Experience supporting construction sites with real-time problem solving
• Familiarity with 3D BIM tools like TEKLA and Navisworks is a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience
