Transitions Operations Delivery Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the Post Transaction Services function, steering all transitions from contract signing to data approval and onboarding. You’ll manage the transaction team, refine our proposition, and ensure smooth handovers for both small schemes and large transactions. You’ll coordinate with trustees, EBCs, and internal stakeholders to meet client commitments and deliver excellent customer outcomes. This position sits at the heart of our growth in retirement services, combining leadership, process improvement, and stakeholder management to drive impact.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the transaction teams to balance workload and meet customer expectations
• Collaborate with the Head of Post Transaction Services to provide best-in-class service to customers (trustees, EBCs, and stakeholders)
• Ensure vetting and signoffs across teams to guarantee accurate onboarding and benefit delivery
• Act as liaison for Commercial team on transactional or client queries and provide support for technical capabilities and RFI processes
• Build and maintain relationships with EBC customers and escalate issues as needed
• Provide project and stakeholder management across transitions until final premium is settled
• Review data cleanse extension requests when timelines slip
• Motivate and develop the team, offering progression opportunities
• Coordinate with Dev teams to define scope and SME input for technology-enabled benefits delivery
• Ensure the transition team participates in the technical journey and utilizes new tech
• Produce timely management information for committees as required

Key requirements

• Proven planning and organizational skills to manage scheme transitions and diverse workloads
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with high accuracy
• Solid understanding of life and pensions, especially DB Pensions and DB de-risking
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities with trustees and EBCs to drive transactions
• Excellent communication skills for clear external messaging and stakeholder updates
• Strong problem analysis and resolution capabilities
• Extensive project, people, and stakeholder management experience
• Experience in transition or relationship management within a DB De-Risking team or related administration
• Experience in the pensions industry within a similar organization
• Experience with transitions in larger market segments and stakeholder oversight
