Senior Decommissioning Project/Portfolio Manager

Overview

In this role you will shape Worley’s offshore decommissioning portfolio, aligning strategy with client needs and industry standards. You’ll engage with executive stakeholders, lead major decommissioning programmes, and drive growth through long‑term client relationships. You’ll work across IPMT, Owner’s Engineer, PMC and EPCM delivery environments to deliver safe, compliant retirement of assets. This is an opportunity to influence market strategy, expand capabilities, and advance sustainable asset retirement in a fast‑growing sector.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and contribute to offshore decommissioning and asset retirement strategies
• Develop strategic plans aligned with business objectives and customer requirements
• Act as a trusted advisor on decommissioning strategy, planning and execution
• Lead and support commercial negotiations and customer meetings
• Identify growth opportunities and build long‑term client relationships
• Collaborate with operators, regulators and industry partners on decommissioning solutions
• Prepare bids, proposals and commercial submissions for new opportunities
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex programmes
• Promote safe, sustainable and compliant project delivery and continuous improvement
• Participate in industry conferences, forums and client events
• Support contract strategy development and negotiation
• Foster a high‑performance culture centered on safety, collaboration and accountability
• Support market expansion across offshore oil and gas decommissioning, late-life asset management, well abandonment, subsea decommissioning, offshore renewables and energy transition asset retirement, and carbon capture and storage infrastructure retirement

Key requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline
• Significant experience in offshore energy, decommissioning, asset retirement or major project environments
• Knowledge of offshore decommissioning activities including asset retirement, well P&A, subsea infrastructure and marine operations
• Experience with IPMT, Owner’s Engineer, PMC, EPCM or multi-contractor delivery models
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Understanding of commercial, contractual and project governance principles
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in complex stakeholder environments
• Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable delivery practices
• Recognised industry leader with established operator and stakeholder relationships
• Proven track record of securing and delivering major offshore decommissioning programmes
• Decommissioning strategy development, asset retirement planning, well P&A, topsides decommissioning, jacket/substructure removal, subsea decommissioning, offshore construction and marine operations, waste management and recycling strategies
• Regulatory submissions and approvals
