Senior Cloud Architect – up to 90,000 + Benefits – Hybrid

Overview

As a Senior Cloud Platform Architect you will design, build and optimise enterprise-scale cloud platforms across GCP and Azure. You will lead multi-cloud patterns, Landing Zones and secure adoption, partnering with engineering and DevOps to modernise environments. You’ll define reusable IaC models, governance, and policy guardrails to improve security, resilience and efficiency. This role offers technical leadership across cloud platform engineering and cross-team initiatives, shaping scalable cloud strategy in a global tech organisation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimise Cloud Landing Zones across GCP and Azure
• Design scalable, secure multi-cloud platform solutions
• Define cloud architecture patterns and standards for enterprise adoption
• Design and implement container platforms with GKE and AKS
• Define governance for IAM, networking, security and compliance
• Develop modular IaC with Terraform and Terraform Cloud
• Implement Policy as Code using OPA and Sentinel
• Lead Kubernetes architecture and service mesh integration (Istio)
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines for automated infra and app deployments
• Develop automation scripts in Python
• Support migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native environments
• Identify opportunities to improve security, resilience, automation and efficiency
• Provide technical leadership across Cloud Platform Engineering, architecture and strategy
• Communicate architectural direction to senior stakeholders

Key requirements

• Proven Cloud Architect/Platform Architect experience
• Strong hands-on GCP experience
• Commercial Azure experience
• Experience designing enterprise Landing Zones
• Advanced Terraform/Terraform Cloud
• Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE, AKS)
• Containerisation and cloud-native architectures
• Policy as Code with OPA and/or Sentinel
• CI/CD integration experience
• Python scripting for cloud automation
• Security, IAM, networking and governance knowledge
