Overview
In this role you will provide commercial and legal support to a well-known London-based charitable trust. You will structure, draft and negotiate a wide range of partnerships, grants and IP/licensing arrangements, while supporting fundraising and governance activities. You will act as a key business partner to fundraising teams and ensure compliance through data protection and policy governance. The role offers a meaningful chance to shape how the charity collaborates with partners and manages complex agreements.

Responsibilities
- Structure, draft and negotiate charitable partnership agreements including commercial contracts, grants, IP licences, and revenue-sharing models
- Advise on grant agreements and IP ownership/commercialisation, indemnities and funding obligations
- Support fundraising teams with drafting and negotiating fundraising agreements
- Act as Company Secretary for the Foundation’s three subsidiary companies
- Deputise as data protection lead, provide training and ensure compliance with mandated practices
- Draft, maintain and update internal guidelines, policies and standard-form documents
- Attend London offices 2–3 days per week
Key requirements
- Solicitor (qualified in the UK or equivalent Common Law jurisdiction)
- 5+ years post-qualification experience
- Experience drafting/reviewing commercial contracts and knowledge of England and Wales law
- Desirable: experience drafting/reviewing grant agreements
- Familiarity with charity sector and charity law
- Some familiarity with health/social care/voluntary sector terminology
- Some familiarity with financial and grants concepts
