Overview

As People Insight and Reward Manager, you will lead workforce intelligence, pay and reward services to support strategic decision-making and long-term workforce planning. You will translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leaders and drive continuous improvement through technology-enabled solutions. You will lead a specialist team and collaborate with HR, Finance and ICT to shape workforce strategy and organisation performance. This role offers a chance to influence pivotal people priorities in a large council.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the council’s workforce data, insight, pay and reward functions
  • Develop people analytics, workforce reporting and strategic workforce intelligence
  • Lead annual pay review processes and reward programmes
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leaders on workforce and reward matters
  • Oversee job evaluation, pay governance and reward frameworks
  • Manage statutory workforce reporting, data governance and compliance
  • Drive workforce planning and data-led decision making
  • Champion continuous improvement, digital transformation and service redesign initiatives
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders, trade unions and external partners
  • Sponsor and deliver major workforce, reward and organisational change programmes

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in people insight, workforce analytics, pay or related specialist field
  • Expertise in workforce data analysis, people analytics and reward strategy
  • Experience overseeing job evaluation processes and maintaining pay and grading integrity
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic frameworks, policies and improvement programmes
  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities
  • Advanced ICT skills, including experience of HR systems and advanced Excel
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • A relevant professional qualification, or be working towards one
  • A full driving licence and ability to travel to offices in Aylesbury
