Technology Planning and Governance Manager

Overview

In this role you will shape the corporate technology alignment roadmap, partnering with senior stakeholders, system owners, and 3rd parties to drive innovation. You will oversee the core Applications Portfolio across functions such as Finance, Legal, HR, and more, ensuring changes are high-quality, secure and fit for purpose. You’ll translate business capability into solution architecture, build business cases, and manage budgets and dependencies. You will lead governance, information security, and IT standards to support operational excellence and cross-functional delivery.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment of application roadmaps with corporate IT plans
• Develop and maintain technology roadmap to support Corp requirements
• Evaluate cloud movement impacts and opportunities for Corp functions
• Create and present business cases for high-level initiatives and secure funding
• Align technology roadmaps with annual budget planning and reporting
• Provide technical leadership for corporate initiatives and cross-functional services
• Document IT standards and ensure regulatory compliance
• Lead governance forums to improve services for Corp functions
• Manage (future) solution architects, contractors, and 3rd parties
• Support corporate functions to optimise use of corporate applications
• Vendor management and RFIs/RFPs
• Oversee application portfolio risk, currency, dependencies

Key requirements

• Significant and relevant IT experience
• Experience in practical solution planning and technical architecture design (e.g. SaaS, IAM)
• Understanding of emerging technologies and how to leverage them
• Experience with architecture mapping, data governance, roadmaps, and delivery lifecycle
• Familiarity with ITIL service management and corporate applications
• Ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships across groups
• Proven leadership, objective setting and delivery focus
• Contract management, supplier management, and vendor selection experience
• Experience with systems such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, SAP SuccessFactors, Power BI, Azure AD SSO
• Experience in business continuity planning and IT disaster recovery
