- Abilityto use language and other communication skills that pupils can understand andrelate to.
- Abilityto establish positive relationships with pupils and empathise with their needs.
- Abilityto demonstrate active listening skills.
- Abilityto consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour managementstrategies.
- Abilityto provide levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learningtasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs, encouraging the pupil to stay on task.
- Abilityto offer constructive feedback to pupils to reinforce self-esteem.
- Abilityto work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
- Abilityto work within and apply all school policies eg behaviour management,safeguarding, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities etc.
- Abilityto maintain confidentiality on all school matters.
- Willingnessto provide practical assistance to a pupil, including physical support whererequired, and undergo relevant training to support this.
