Overview
In this role you lead the finance design on large transformation programmes, setting the enterprise structure, processes and operating model. You partner with CFO and finance leadership to define fit-to-standard designs and decide when to change processes or design. You drive technology selection, value case development and AI-enabled ways of working within live programmes. The position sits at the intersection of finance, systems and data, influencing delivering teams and shaping propositions for clients. You will own the design end-to-end and act as a design authority in front of clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead fit-to-standard and process design across core finance processes (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, Acquire-to-Retire) and related areas
- Design and defend the finance backbone (legal-entity structure, chart of accounts, cost-centre hierarchy, profit-centre model) to meet reporting and statutory needs
- Chair design conversations, present options, draft decision papers and drive closure with finance leadership
- Lead technology selection, vendor assessment and build the value case and roadmap
- Design AI-enabled ways of working within target processes and determine data/control prerequisites
- Ensure platform literacy and integration thinking across SAP, Oracle or comparable finance platforms and surrounding systems
- Shape the target operating model and facilitate design-thinking workshops, co-developing solutions with the client
- Origination and deal shaping: identify unaddressed problems and contribute to positioning and solutioning
Key requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing finance transformation on enterprise platform programmes
- Experience across more than one ERP or finance platform
- Leadership in technology selection and building the business case
- Deep expertise in enterprise structure and chart-of-accounts design
- Design AI-enabled finance processes on live programmes
- Shaping new work with clients and awareness of controls, intercompany, tax impacts
- Professional finance or accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent industry experience)
