Overview

As a UK Tax Director, you will lead a diverse portfolio within the national Family Office & Private Client practice, driving growth of a UK tax offering in a Big Four firm. You will work closely with Funds and wealth teams to advise on international tax matters for high-net-worth individuals and fund-related investments. You will mentor staff, shape client service, and steer complex tax strategies with a focus on funds and cross-border issues. This role offers influence across the practice, with a tangible impact on growth and client outcomes in a global context.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on personal and family wealth international tax positions, including fund-related investments and remuneration structures such as carried interest
  • Ensure high-quality, accurate tax advice and drive excellent client service across the team
  • Line manage and develop multiple staff, delegating work and training on technical and soft skills
  • Maintain deep knowledge of UK personal tax, fund-related tax matters and international issues (remittance basis, domicile, offshore trusts, TOAA, s.3 anti-avoidance, IHT)
  • Lead client engagement and onboarding, manage relationships, and meet internal/external deadlines
  • Take the lead on final billing decisions, scope, quotes, and support prompt payments
  • Oversee recovery and utilization of projects and clients for the team

Key requirements

  • ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience signing out UK tax advice and handling client tax requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high standard of client service
  • Experience managing junior staff and a team
  • Ability to deliver bespoke tax solutions addressing client needs
