Senior Client Manager

Overview

In this Senior Client Manager role, you oversee client relationships and lead a team within an established independent practice. You will manage a diverse SME client portfolio, ensuring high-quality accounting and tax services while developing junior staff. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive delivery, workflow, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and companies
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Liaise with clients on accounting, taxation and business matters
• Supervise and review the work of a team of accountants
• Prepare and review statutory accounts from incomplete and computerised records
• Prepare and review company and personal tax returns
• Conduct client meetings and visits as needed
• Support workflow management and ensure deadlines are met
• Assist with ad hoc projects and business initiatives

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum of 15 years’ UK accountancy practice experience
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts for diverse entities
• Proven people management and staff supervision experience
• Excellent technical knowledge of accounts and taxation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience using accounting software such as CCH, Sage and Xero
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
