Overview
In this role you will prepare statutory accounts and tax returns for sole traders and owner-managed companies, handle bookkeeping, and serve as a first point of contact for client queries. You report to a Senior Manager with clear progression toward Assistant Manager. The firm emphasizes client contact, training, and local community involvement, offering flexible working patterns post-probation. This is a general practice position with meaningful client-facing responsibilities and development opportunities within a supportive team.

Responsibilities
- Prepare accounts for sole traders and owner-managed limited companies
- Handle bookkeeping and respond to client queries
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
- Act as a client-facing contact and resolve issues directly
- Report to a Senior Manager and contribute to client service delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional staff to support clients
Key requirements
- AAT qualified or part/full ACCA or ICAEW
- At least three years in accountancy practice
- Experience in accounts preparation and personal/corporate tax returns
- Proficient with QuickBooks and Xero; IRIS is a bonus
- Strong Excel skills (formulas and data analysis)
- Comfortable speaking with clients and resolving queries
