Overview
In this Private Markets role within Standard Life’s Real Assets team, you will help originate, analyse and manage investments across Infrastructure, Asset-Backed Lending, Real Estate Debt and related strategies. You will work with experienced investors and transaction specialists to support end-to-end investment activity and portfolio performance, contributing to the evolution of the Real Assets proposition. This is a chance to deepen technical expertise, build market relationships and pursue a long-term career in Private Markets. Responsibilities
- Analyse and assess private markets investment opportunities, including transaction structuring, risk assessment and financial modelling
- Support sourcing, execution and ongoing management of investments across Structured Credit and wider Private Markets strategies
- Conduct credit and relative value analysis to identify attractive opportunities and improve portfolio returns
- Build and maintain cash flow models and investment recommendations for decision-making
- Assist in negotiating commercial, financial and legal terms to optimise risk-adjusted outcomes
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to progress transactions through approval and execution
- Monitor portfolio performance, emerging risks and covenant compliance, supporting asset management and restructuring as needed
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, market research and investment insights to expand investment capabilities
Key requirements
- Experience in an investment role with exposure to Private debt and Structured Credit/Mortgage investments (Mortgage Solutions, Equity Release Mortgages, Securitisations including ABS/CLO, Asset-Backed Finance and/or Insured Credit)
- Track record of high-quality delivery and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Experience in self-directed roles with prioritisation and stakeholder management
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with Intex and/or VBA advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and pace
