Overview

As a Principal Pensions Administrator, you will manage a portfolio of DB, DC and Hybrid pension schemes, ensuring accurate, timely administration and strong client service. You will guide and develop a team, support the Client Executive unit, and engage with clients and scheme members to communicate clearly. You’ll handle payrolls, cashflows, and pension-related calculations while collaborating with cross-functional colleagues. This role offers impact across clients and teams within a global benefits organization. You’ll contribute to shaping effective pension strategies and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee a portfolio of pension schemes (DB, DC, Hybrid) ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Allocate cases and perform/review automated and manual calculations
  • Draft and review correspondence, reports, and manage pensioner payrolls
  • Provide guidance and training to pensions administrators and senior pensions administrators
  • Support the Client Executive team and attend client meetings or new business pitches
  • Liaise with scheme members (email, phone, letters) with clear, professional communication
  • Manage cashflows, investments, disinvestments, and invoices
  • Collaborate with team members and build relationships with supporting teams
  • Assist the Team Leader and deputise when needed

Key requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in administering DB, DC, or Hybrid pension schemes
  • Currently studying or has achieved Pension Management Institute CPC qualification
  • Experience in managing or mentoring team members
  • Strong analytical skills with a logical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to explain complex calculations in simple terms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to process data accurately
  • Team player with strong prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and disclosure requirements
