Senior PROMIS MES Engineer (VAX/VMS)

Overview

In this role you will manage, configure, and optimize the MES within our Caswell plant to enable efficient production and compliance with standards. You will collaborate with production, QA, and IT to integrate MES with enterprise systems and improve functionality. You’ll drive continuous improvement of workflows, documentation, and training to ensure reliable MES operation and data quality. This position offers impact in shaping manufacturing processes through MES enhancements and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Oversee configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the MES
• Ensure MES availability and performance to meet production requirements
• Collaborate with IT and engineering to integrate MES with ERP and other systems
• Ensure disaster recovery systems are functional and tested annually
• Act as MES subject matter expert and point of contact for troubleshooting
• Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify MES enhancements and implement changes
• Train staff on MES usage and provide ongoing technical support
• Develop SOPs and ensure compliance with ISO standards and audits
• Document process, workflow, and manage compliance; support continuous improvement and upgrades
• Lead architecture and deployment planning for MES replacement or upgrade

Key requirements

• Extensive experience configuring and managing MES such as Promis, Ops Center or Camstar
• Knowledge of OpenVMS & RedHat Linux advantageous
• Experience with other MES systems desirable
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflows
• Scripting experience with DCL
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing advantageous
• Familiarity with ERP and PLC integration
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, GIT and IT Service Desk Tools
• Proficiency in SQL (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL)
• Promis Datalink Script familiarity; PROMIS BOMS and Routing Architecture knowledge
