Overview

As Development Manager, you will lead hospitality-focused development projects from feasibility to handover, coordinating internal teams and external consultants. You will work within a growing London-based development business to drive end-to-end delivery, navigating planning, design, procurement, and construction. Your impact lies in shaping projects that align with operators’ needs and the company’s growth objectives. This role offers broad client-side experience and exposure to complex redevelopment schemes in hospitality and living-led contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from feasibility through completion across design, planning, procurement, construction and handover
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant and professional teams
  • Support planning applications and statutory approvals
  • Oversee design development to meet technical and operational requirements
  • Monitor budgets, programmes, risks and change control
  • Support procurement and contractor appointment processes
  • Track construction progress and quality through to Practical Completion
  • Collaborate with operators and stakeholders throughout design and delivery
  • Support project handover, mobilisation and defect management
  • Build and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors and wider stakeholders

Key requirements

  • 3–6 years’ experience in development, project management or consultancy
  • Experience on hotel or hospitality projects through design and construction
  • Understanding of planning, design, procurement and construction processes
  • Experience coordinating consultants, professional teams and contractors
  • Exposure to budgets, programmes, risk and change management
  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree in property, construction, engineering or architecture (relevant)
