Overview

In this role you will lead commercial delivery on complex rail projects for a major contractor in Central London. You will manage client relations, procurement and change within rail contracts, shaping commercial strategy and risk management. You will support tendering, procurement planning, and coordination across the commercial team to secure project value and on-time delivery. This is a senior position with exposure to Network Rail and TFL clients, offering strategic impact in a reputable, rail-focused environment.

Pay / Benefits

  • 65,000 + benefits (DOE)

Responsibilities

  • Protect the commercial position through contract, commercial, insurance and legal process know-how
  • Maintain effective client relationship management to enable smooth commercial progression
  • Liaise with client, PQS, and senior staff across the project
  • Develop and mentor the commercial team members
  • Assess the impact of commercial and technical changes at a strategic level
  • Anticipate and plan changes in commercial resource on the project
  • Support commercial aspects of the tendering process when needed
  • Prepare the project procurement schedule and coordinate team input
  • Oversee subcontract procurement per procurement timetable and policy
  • Ensure efficient procurement of materials and off-site services with records kept

Key requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum seven years experience with main contractors on rail infrastructure projects
  • Rail project experience is essential
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience dealing with Network Rail or TFL as client (preferably both)
  • Client relationship management
