You will contribute to Arch’s growth by delivering efficient case underwriting to brokers and supporting regional strategy in Bristol. This role blends underwriting expertise with broker development to achieve income and profit targets. You will strengthen local presence, share market insights, and collaborate with claims and survey teams to drive performance. Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and existing business within risk appetite and authority
• Follow the 4 Call Process to maximise opportunities
• Achieve region-specific KPIs for income, profit and expenses
• Build strong relationships with directors and staff at key brokers in the region
• Demonstrate negotiation skills to support conversion and broker relationships
• Maintain and develop personal technical knowledge
• Share technical and market intelligence with the Regional Director and team
• Collaborate with claims and survey teams as needed

Key requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial insurance underwriting
• Experience in renewals/existing business underwriting preferred
• Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships
• Strong underwriting track record
• Flexible and effective negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Structured, organised, and planned working style
• Strong risk perception and selection capabilities
• Ability to price risk appropriately
