IT Field Engineers (Contract) – Laptop & Desktop Re-Imaging Project

Duration:4–5 weeks

Locations:Along the M4 Corridor (Reading to Carmarthen)

About the Role

We are seekingtwo experienced IT Field Engineersto assist with a large-scalere-imaging projectinvolving approximately400 laptops and desktopsacross multiple sites along the M4 corridor.

You will be responsible for re-imaging devices, deploying Windows 11 using PXE boot, and ensuring full functionality with Office 365. This role requires travel between sites and may involveoccasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Re-image and configure Windows 11 laptops and desktops.
  • Use PXE boot or similar tools for efficient deployment.
  • Configure and verify Office 365 applications post-imaging.
  • Perform quality assurance and ensure successful device handover.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with another engineer to complete the rollout efficiently.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience withWindows 10/11 deployment and imaging.
  • Proficiency withPXE boot environmentsand related tools.
  • Strong working knowledge ofMicrosoft 365 (Office 365)setup and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Own vehiclewith validbusiness insurance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to travel across multiple sites (Reading → Carmarthen).
  • Willingness to undertakeovernight stayswhere required.

  • Remuneration:Competitive day rate (depending on experience)
