Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will take commercial ownership of a portfolio of building and civil engineering projects, from procurement through final account, ensuring profitable delivery and controlled risk. You will lead subcontract procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, site teams and suppliers. You will support junior members of the commercial team and ensure contractual compliance across projects. This is a growing regional contractor environment offering clear career progression and a mix of on-site travel around Yorkshire with one day from home.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, ensuring successful financial delivery.
• Manage valuations, cost reporting, forecasting, CVRs, cash flow, variations and commercial risk.
• Lead the procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages, including payments and final accounts.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure contractual compliance, maintain accurate commercial documentation and provide support to junior members of the commercial team where required.

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across construction and/or civil engineering projects.
• Confident managing multiple projects while delivering strong commercial outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or a related discipline) is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
