In-house Commercial Property Litigation Solicitor

Overview

In this role, you will support a major Birmingham-based family-owned property group with responsibility for its commercial property portfolio. You will advise on acquisitions, disposals, leases, and related documentation, while handling landlord and tenant issues and property disputes. Working closely with senior management, you’ll shape lease strategies, manage disputes, and ensure compliant, business-focused solutions. The position offers visibility within a large portfolio and the opportunity to influence how a diversified property estate is managed and grown.

Responsibilities

• Advising on freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
• Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, licences and related documentation
• Supporting asset management activities including lease renewals and variations
• Advising on rent reviews and managing dilapidations and forfeiture matters
• Managing commercial debt matters and enforcement options
• Resolving property-related disputes including rights of way and boundaries
• Handling a range of general litigation affecting the portfolio

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
• Minimum of 5 years’ PQE
• Experience in Commercial Property and/or Property Litigation
• Strong understanding of landlord and tenant law
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Practical, business-focused approach
• Confidence working directly with senior management
• Ability to manage a varied workload independently
