Design Director (Building Services)

Overview

As a Design Director focused on sustainable design, you will lead environmentally transformative initiatives for buildings across a global portfolio from the UK. You’ll influence clients and collaborators, driving climate-responsive design leadership and scalable practices. You guide projects as a trusted advisor, shape tools and processes, and mentor teams to advance sustainable capabilities. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on delivery to advance a sustainable future for built environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive the creative design response to the climate emergency
• Provide sustainable design leadership to key clients and collaborators across a global project portfolio
• Act as a trusted advisor to guide clients on sustainable design strategies and outcomes
• Perform Project Director duties with efficient project management using advanced planning tools
• Lead development of tools, templates, strategies, and processes to enhance sustainable design across disciplines (Building Services)
• Deliver line management, mentoring, and coaching to support team growth
• Contribute to technical advancement in sustainable design and stay ahead of research and innovation
• Demonstrate sustainability leadership internally and externally using broad expertise
