Overview

In this role you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of Hines’ global Financial Crime Compliance framework, spanning multiple jurisdictions. You will partner with senior leadership to align policies, risk assessments, and monitoring programs with local law while maintaining global consistency. You will assess regulatory changes, supervise assurance activities, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial crime policies, standards, and procedures while ensuring global consistency with local requirements
  • Design and oversee the Financial Crime Compliance monitoring programme
  • Lead enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments and risk-based decision making
  • Identify control weaknesses, oversee remediation activities, and drive continuous improvement
  • Provide technical leadership across the Financial Crime Compliance function and coach team members
  • Review and interpret legislation across jurisdictions and communicate regulatory changes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and other control functions
  • Promote consistent application of policies and risk-based decision making across the organization

Key requirements

  • Degree level education in law, finance, business, economics, risk, accounting or a related discipline
  • Background in financial crime compliance in investment management or real estate
  • Experience leading organizational change and strategic compliance initiatives
  • Experience designing and delivering compliance monitoring and assurance programmes
  • Experience drafting and implementing risk-based compliance policies, standards and procedures
  • Experience conducting enterprise-wide compliance or financial crime risk assessments
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance or financial crime frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Extensive knowledge of anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and wider financial crime frameworks
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive change without direct line authority
