As a Principal Transport Planner in our Birmingham team, you will lead a portfolio of development and infrastructure transport projects from concept to delivery. You’ll shape sustainable transport solutions, build strong client relationships, and mentor colleagues to strengthen the team. Your work supports growth of the Birmingham Transport Planning group and reflects Stantec’s commitment to low‑carbon, community‑focused transport. Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of transport planning projects across development and infrastructure schemes
  • Prepare and oversee Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport modelling and environmental work
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage projects, programmes and budgets
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to business development

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in transport planning, ideally within the land development sector
  • Proven leadership, project delivery and client management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach and a passion for innovation and the future of low-carbon transport
  • A degree in Transport Planning, Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
