Associate Technical Director – Electrical Engineering (Water & Wastewater)

Overview

In this role you lead electrical design delivery for water and wastewater projects within Arcadis’ Water Design & Engineering team. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, drive technical solutions, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The position sits in the Resilience Global Business Area, focusing on protecting water resources amid climate challenges while enabling sustainable, scalable infrastructure. You will collaborate with clients across regions, shaping complex capital projects and mentoring engineers to grow the practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and advisory services for water and wastewater plants, pumping stations, and assets
• Produce and review complex electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA) and manage deliverables
• Ensure safety, quality, legislative and environmental standards are met
• Apply digital design techniques to project delivery
• Develop innovative, client-focused technical solutions
• Mentor staff and oversee professional development
• Build and maintain client and partner relationships on technical and commercial matters
• Capture and share key project knowledge and innovations
• Promote MEICA capability within the team

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Chartered Engineer status with IET/InstMC/CIWEM or equivalent
• Extensive experience delivering process plant systems in water/wastewater projects
• Experience with design and construct projects and digital design platforms
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills
