You will work across multi-discipline projects, shaping design approaches, feasibility studies, and client proposals. You will engage in design, planning, and public consultation to advance critical grid improvements. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and lead design activities for overhead transmission lines up to 400 kV
  • Contribute to multi-discipline project delivery and feasibility studies
  • Assist in writing proposals, defining timelines, resources, budgets, and goals
  • Support project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation activities
  • Perform PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, and sag‑tension calculations
  • Develop design criteria, inspect damper systems, insulator/conductor selection, and clearance reports
  • Conduct internal quality checks of drawings and calculations
  • Produce engineering deliverables such as reports, drawings packages, and presentations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or eligible
  • Experience delivering UK transmission projects (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT)
  • Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400 kV
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PLS-CADD modelling
