Overview
In this role, you will lead civil infrastructure projects from inception to completion within a supportive, technically strong consultancy. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will manage risks, planning, and procurement, while supporting business development and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities
- Lead civil and infrastructure projects through all lifecycle stages
- Develop scopes, programmes and budgets with effective planning and resource allocation
- Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong relationships
- Assist tender activities including tender reviews and procurement planning
- Coordinate internal design teams and external stakeholders (contractors, regulators)
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, standards, and health & safety (CDM)
- Manage project finances (cost control, forecasting, invoicing)
- Prepare and present progress reports to clients and senior management
- Support business development and mentor junior team members
- Ensure quality assurance procedures throughout delivery
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing civil or infrastructure construction projects
- Experience with NEC and Public Works contracts; other forms beneficial
- Good understanding of CDM Regulations and quality management systems
- Project management qualification (APM PMQ/PPQ or NEC accreditation) or progression toward one (advantageous)
