Overview

In this role you will design, develop and support AVEVA System Platform solutions for industrial automation projects, working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable systems. You’ll translate requirements into effective control solutions and ensure smooth integration with PLC, SCADA, HMI and related technologies. You will contribute across the full lifecycle from design to commissioning and ongoing improvement, with a focus on safety, quality and data visibility. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic, customer-facing environment that values collaboration and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and configure AVEVA System Platform solutions
• Develop and maintain AVEVA InTouch applications, ArchestrA objects, graphics, templates, scripts and configurations
• Translate requirements into control system solutions
• Integrate AVEVA System Platform with PLC, SCADA, HMI, historian, MES, SQL and other systems
• Configure communications and data interfaces using industrial protocols
• Produce design docs, test plans and project records
• Collaborate with control and electrical engineers, project managers, customers and suppliers
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover activities
• Investigate and resolve software, database and integration issues
• Provide technical support, upgrades and continuous improvement for existing installations
• Ensure solutions meet project, cybersecurity and customer specifications
• Support estimation, technical proposals, and standardised automation solutions
• Maintain safety, quality, compliance and customer satisfaction
• Share knowledge and guide colleagues to grow automation capability
• Apply Quartz principles and uphold Actemium values

Key requirements

• Experience implementing AVEVA System Platform in industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of AVEVA System Platform, ArchestrA and InTouch
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, PLCs, databases and system integration
• Understanding of OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar protocols
• Scripting, SQL databases and troubleshooting automation networks
• Ability to interpret control philosophies, P&IDs and electrical/docs
• Experience FAT, SAT and site-based activities
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
• Customer-facing communication across stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Commitment to safety, quality and professional engineering conduct
• Relevant qualification in Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
• Willingness to travel to customer sites; Full UK Driving Licence
