Overview
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex, multidisciplinary transport infrastructure projects from concept to handover. You will coordinate design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to ensure safe-by-design, buildable, on-time delivery within contractual requirements. You’ll drive Design & Build delivery, resolve technical and site issues, manage change, and mentor junior colleagues while expanding Arup’s transport offering in Northern Ireland. The role offers executive exposure, leadership development, and meaningful, society-facing projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex, multidisciplinary transport projects across full lifecycle
- Act as engineering and delivery focal point among design teams, construction partners, supply chain and clients
- Lead Design & Build delivery, resolve technical/site issues, and manage change control
- Ensure safety-by-design, buildability, cost and programme certainty, and compliance with standards
- Oversee handover quality and project closure
- Mentor junior colleagues and develop client relationships
- Identify and secure new work and contribute to regional growth of Arup’s transport offering
- Engage with executive stakeholders and support governance and decision-making
Key requirements
- Degree-level qualification and Chartered status (CEng) in engineering, construction or related discipline
- Proven experience leading Design & Build transport infrastructure projects from tender through construction and handover
- Strong project and design management capability with leadership of multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in client-side project management, handling cost, programme, risk and change control
- Sound commercial and contractual awareness, including NEC construction and professional services contracts
