Overview
As a Senior Project Manager in Arcadis’ Water Programme, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects within a regulated environment to deliver capital programmes on time and within budget. You’ll coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to secure value-for-money outcomes from design to commissioning. The role focuses on risk, contract management, and ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability across projects. You’ll contribute to high-profile water infrastructure with a clear impact on resilience and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sustainable financial out-performance against approved budgets
- Manage contract matters commercially for optimal outcomes
- Develop and deliver optimized projects meeting regulatory, statutory and internal deadlines
- Provide technical solutions delivering value for money on capital and whole-life cost
- Oversee performance management of service providers to meet SLAs and value
- Proactively manage risks and issues to mitigate impact and maximize opportunities
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on project matters
- Ensure compliance with quality systems and processes to meet standards
- Establish and promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility
- Embrace digital and sustainable solutions in day-to-day project delivery
Key requirements
- Chartered status or working towards chartership
- Experience delivering portfolios of programs/projects, ideally in water or regulated industry
- Strong commercial approach with contract management experience; IChemE or NEC Contract Management is a plus
- Ability to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders
- Experience in making risk decisions to minimize consequences for projects
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Relevant engineering degree; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
- Project management qualifications (PMP, Prince2) preferred
- Experience in water and wastewater projects is desirable
