KS2 Learning Support

Overview

In this role you support KS2 pupils at a welcoming primary school in BS13, helping build confidence, resilience and independence. You work closely with the class teacher to adapt materials and deliver targeted support in English and maths. You’ll run small-group interventions, provide 1:1 help, and assist with children’s transition to secondary school. This is a collaborative position focused on high expectations with the right support and a positive, engaging classroom culture.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS2 in class
• Deliver small group interventions in English and maths
• Provide targeted 1:1 support
• Help pupils stay focused, organised and engaged
• Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt learning materials
• Encourage independence and celebrate progress
• Support preparation for transition to secondary school (academic and emotional)

Key requirements

• Experience with primary-aged children, ideally KS2
• Confident in supporting English and maths learning
• Ability to build positive relationships quickly
• Clear and calm communication
• Proactive, reliable, strong team player
• Belief in high expectations with the right support
• Sense of humour helpful for Year 5/6 motivation
