In this role you will lead technical delivery within Arup’s Bridges and Civil Structures team, guiding projects from feasibility through to asset management. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver high-quality design and consultancy, while shaping best practice and developing the next generation of engineers. You will manage client relationships, bids, and reporting, and mentor junior colleagues, including delegated engineer responsibilities. Responsibilities
- Lead design delivery within multidisciplinary teams for bridges and civil structures
- Contribute to all project stages: feasibility, detailed design, construction support, and asset management
- Manage teams producing drawings, reports, specifications, and risk registers
- Support bids, prepare tender submissions, and assist with contractual/financial documents
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues, including delegated engineer responsibilities
- Apply advanced bridge design and rail civil structures expertise to projects
Key requirements
- Strong technical skills in bridge design, rail civil structures, and retaining/buried structure design
- Client-facing and reporting capabilities
- Experience leading design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment
