Overview

You will support the UK health programme as a Cost Manager within a dedicated cost function, helping to deliver hospital schemes through robust cost management and estimating. You’ll collaborate across scheme leads, Trusts and Advisors to maintain cost baselines and drive value. The role focuses on complex, large-scale healthcare projects and requires proactive stakeholder engagement. This is an opportunity to shape cost performance across a national health programme and contribute to efficient, predictable investment.

Responsibilities

  • Support cost management and estimating across the programme for schemes and capital projects
  • Maintain control of the approved cost baseline including cost assurance and data verification
  • Provide high-quality cost outputs aligned with client policies and estimating tasks
  • Contribute to adoption of client tools and products to enable improved performance
  • Develop close working relationships with scheme leads, Trusts and Advisors ensuring compliance with client processes
  • Support delivery project leads in verifying scheme cost status and reporting
  • Contribute to change control with cost assessment of changes
  • Engage with regional teams and cost consultants to build robust cost management and reporting

Key requirements

  • NRM1/2 knowledge across projects of different scale
  • Relevant technical qualification with demonstrable track record in major projects
  • Strong client-focused approach with excellent stakeholder management
  • Working towards or holding an applicable professional qualification
  • Experience in construction consultancy, healthcare/life science projects, or digital software for project management is advantageous
