Overview

As a Senior Payroll Specialist at AALTO, you will own and optimize the global payroll process to deliver accurate, compliant pay across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll partner with our outsourced payroll provider to safeguard accuracy and support an expanding international workforce. You’ll shape smarter payroll processes, build cross-functional partnerships and drive a positive employee experience. This role sits at the heart of employee experience and regulatory compliance in a fast-growing aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end UK payroll and support payroll operations across international locations
  • Be primary day-to-day contact for outsourced payroll provider to ensure accurate, compliant, on-time payrolls
  • Prepare and validate inputs (salary changes, allowances, overtime, bonuses, benefits, statutory payments)
  • Review payroll outputs, resolve discrepancies before sign-off
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments) and employment taxes
  • Support payroll compliance across jurisdictions with local providers and stakeholders
  • Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and support month-end/year-end activities
  • Maintain payroll records per policies and statutory requirements
  • Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance, and external providers on data accuracy
  • Support audits, reporting, and statutory filings
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and the employee experience
  • Monitor regulatory developments and implement relevant changes

Key requirements

  • Significant hands-on payroll experience with end-to-end processing
  • Experience with outsourced payroll providers
  • Experience supporting payroll across multiple countries/jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and employment taxes (PAYE, NI)
  • Ability to validate payroll calculations and identify anomalies
  • Understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, and compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Excel skills (data reconciliation and analysis)
