Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will design, implement and optimize manufacturing systems to boost productivity, quality and cost efficiency. You will work within the Operations team at the Stonehouse site, collaborating with cross-functional functions to integrate new and existing processes. You will apply lean and continuous improvement methods to solve production challenges and ensure regulatory compliance. This role offers hands-on impact in a global life-science company shaping scalable manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness
  • Design equipment layouts and workspaces for maximum efficiency and safety
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with production development, quality, supply chain and production teams to integrate processes
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO13485 and regulatory IVD requirements
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff
  • Manage projects from concept to implementation and evaluation
  • Document processes, equipment specifications and procedures

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing sector (medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) preferred
  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering or related role
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools and equipment
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools (if mentioned)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency
