Environmental Consultant – Environmental Approvals

Overview

In this role you lead and deliver environmental approvals and planning projects across Australia, with a focus on resource developments and major infrastructure. You work with multidisciplinary teams to align approvals with project goals and support proposals and business development. You collaborate with clients, project managers, and specialists to devise practical, forward-looking solutions and use data to design monitoring programs. This position supports meaningful environmental outcomes and team growth within our Environmental Approvals practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support environmental assessments and planning projects for resource and infrastructure sectors
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver approvals aligned with project goals
• Contribute to proposals and business development in a collaborative manner
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and technical specialists to develop practical solutions
• Use data to design monitoring programs and assess environmental impacts of major developments
• Support growth of the team and adoption of best-practice environmental outcomes

Key requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or related field
• 2 – 6 years of experience in environmental planning and approvals
• Experience contributing to or leading environment impact assessment and approvals projects (WA resources sectorpreferred)
• Solid understanding of Australian environmental legislation and policy frameworks
• Familiarity with GIS, data analysis, or digital tools for environmental assessment (helpful but not essential)
