Overview

In this role you will lead complex Building Surveying commissions and provide technical advisory and project management for public and private clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver surveys, design work, and contract administration, influencing project outcomes and client satisfaction. You’ll mentor APC candidates and contribute to business development while upholding quality and compliance standards. This position offers exposure to diverse projects, including condition surveys and net zero refurbishments, within a global firm focused on sustainable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on Building Surveying, Technical Adviser, Project Management, and Contract Administration commissions
  • Prepare specifications, AutoCAD drawings and design work
  • Survey and report writing for core Building Surveying services
  • Undertake construction monitoring/ NEC Supervisor/ Clerk of Works roles
  • Ensure compliance with Project Delivery and Quality Assurance procedures
  • Manage financial, commercial and risk aspects of fee-based activities
  • Support business development with existing clients and pursuing new work
  • Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors within the national team

Key requirements

  • Chartered Building Surveyor (RICS or MIOB) with ≥3 years post-qualification experience
  • Extensive experience in core Building Surveying areas: condition surveys, feasibility reports, design and contract administration/project management
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to build relationships with professionals and clients
  • Experience managing sub consultants and contractors
  • Strong JCT contract administration
  • Ability to travel for short periods
  • Relationship-building with clients and colleagues
