Overview

As Engineering Manager for EC&I, you will lead technical programmes and oversee safety-critical systems for SMR projects. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes while maintaining high standards of safety and regulatory compliance. You’ll shape EC&I design and lifecycle management, partnering with the CDE and other stakeholders. This role offers impact in a leading nuclear engineering group and opportunities for internal growth and hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage EC&I technical programmes across the product lifecycle
  • Plan tasks with dependency awareness and coordinate with other work areas
  • Foster integration across disciplines to deliver unified solutions
  • Monitor scope and implement adjustments as needed
  • Identify resource gaps and assist in resourcing strategies
  • Help establish and maintain EC&I programme budgets
  • Track budgets, forecast costs, and monitor variances
  • Manage programme risks, including threats and opportunities
  • Oversee contract staff allocation and optimization

Key requirements

  • Experience in EC&I design and management with expertise in two areas (e.g., Control Systems, Radiometrics, Functional Safety)
  • Familiarity with highly regulated industries, control systems, lifecycle stages, and configuration management
  • Proven leadership in steering teams and handling complex projects
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering; advanced degrees a plus
